Many employers notified their current employees of their COBRA rights at the time the law became effective and haven’t notified any new employees since.

Initial Notices
We provide notification by USPS Certificate of Mailing to each employee and covered dependent when they become covered under the plan. We also keep the client updated of any mandated changes in the initial notification letter.

Qualifying Event Notices As you notify us of qualifying events we will also notify employees and dependents on an ongoing basis and provide USPS Certificate of Mailing as proof of notification.

We provide certificates of creditable coverage at loss of coverage and at COBRA termination.

CobraOne has complete web access for the notification of qualifying events and status inquiries, to include participant elections and payments. COBRA participants also have internet access to verify payment due dates and previous payments.

Reports
Each month you will receive a comprehensive COBRA reporting package. Your client package will include a listing of:

• Qualifying Events

• Continuants

• Terminations

• Premium Reconciliation Report

CobraOne will use ordinary care and due diligence in the exercise of its power and in the performance of its responsibilities. Client agrees that CobraOne is not assuming the title and liabilities of “Administrator” or “Plan Administrator” defined by the COBRA or ERISA law. Client agrees that this responsibility is and remains that of the Client. CobraOne shall not be liable under this Agreement unless its actions are in willful and wanton disregard for the Agreement. CobraOne agrees to hold Client harmless resulting from any and all dishonest, fraudulent, or criminal acts of CobraOne or its employees acting alone or in collusion with others. The Client agrees to hold harmless and to indemnify CobraOne, its officers, directors, and employees against any and all claims, denials, suits, settlements, judgments, costs, penalties, attorney’s fees and expenses of whatsoever kind resulting from or arising out of any action or omission on the part of Client in connection with any function of this Agreement or in connection to any claim for benefits under any plan administered through this Agreement.
