Cobra Case Study #1

Situation: One of CobraOne’s Clients offers multiple versions of Group Health, Dental, and Vision plans all across the United States. Because of the number of plans and locations our client’s accounting department became overwhelmed with the amount of data they had to keep track of and then enter in order to accurately determine the COBRA charges for each plan by department.

Results: Our CobraOne “IT” department developed a custom end-of-month report for the employer’s HR department to download directly into their accounting software. Consequently giving them the exact automated results needed for their internal accounting system.

Cobra Case Study #2

Situation: A gentleman from another CobraOne client terminated on 03/31/07. He and CobraOne have been working with Social Services to have the IRS pay his COBRA premium. It took over a month of careful, detailed, communicating to satisfy all the information needed by the IRS to accomplish this task.

Results: This person’s 1st Cobra payment will be paid by the IRS on 02/01/08.

Cobra Case Study #3

Situation: A participant from another complicated client called because the insurance company BCBS of FL had not reinstated his coverage under COBRA. The original paperwork had been sent to BCBS of FL on 11/01/07. We called the BCBS of FL contact and re-sent the papers along with the original fax confirmation to prove that it was sent previously. It turned out that the participant in question had previously had an individual policy with BCBS when he was self-employed and they were showing a duplicate SS# so their BCBS system was mistakenly rejecting his application.

Results: We had the BCBS of FL representative work with us to resolve the problem with their system and the right person got his proper continuation of coverage.

Cobra Case Study #4

Situation: Often one of our largest clients, requests that we scan and email them a complete copy of the COBRA Notification paperwork, as well as mailing a copy, so they can present it to an employee the moment they are terminated.

Results: We do everything we can to offer our CobraOne clients a “Ritz Carlton” experience in some very difficult situations where tempers and emotions can naturally run high.
